Thanks! I added in Montana. My hens stopped laying this summer when I thought is might be the heat. But honestly I have had chickens for nearly 8 years and never ran in to a drought of eggs like this one. They are the younger of 5 and the older ones laid up until their 6th year! I have used the same feed all these years sometimes changing to a higher protein of 18% but generally 16%. The brands I use are Nature Wise or Country Companion brands. Calcium 3.8-4.8%.Both are very fatty.
What is their regular feed...brand/model/protein and calcium percentages?
Neither of these will promote laying, best leave them out.
Are you positive....do you free range?
Do your birds look like they're laying....bright red combs, etc?

Am assuming you live in the northern hemisphere, but....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

The younger hens don't have the bright red combs like they used to....and they don't free range but have a very nice yard and I can see all parts of it. I let them out daily but they are scratching not laying!!
This is a real puzzle for me. thanks for thinking it through with me!
