No eggs

Both are very fatty.
What is their regular feed...brand/model/protein and calcium percentages?

Neither of these will promote laying, best leave them out.

Are you positive....do you free range?

Do your birds look like they're laying....bright red combs, etc?

Am assuming you live in the northern hemisphere, but....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Thanks! I added in Montana. My hens stopped laying this summer when I thought is might be the heat. But honestly I have had chickens for nearly 8 years and never ran in to a drought of eggs like this one. They are the younger of 5 and the older ones laid up until their 6th year! I have used the same feed all these years sometimes changing to a higher protein of 18% but generally 16%. The brands I use are Nature Wise or Country Companion brands. Calcium 3.8-4.8%.
The younger hens don't have the bright red combs like they used to....and they don't free range but have a very nice yard and I can see all parts of it. I let them out daily but they are scratching not laying!!
This is a real puzzle for me. thanks for thinking it through with me!

Actually my Rhode Island Red has a nice red comb (I just double checked ) The North Star's is palish for her.

I want to give you my"eggless" update. The girls are laying again!!
After over 6 dry months they started up again. The only thing I did differently is 1) added apple cider vinegar once into their waterer and 2) laid some fennel in the nest boxes; BOTH were panned here by fellow chicken lovers. But other than those changes everything else was the same. I would love to here your thoughts on why such a long drought from these girls.

My only thoughts are the meal worms and BOSS were too high in fat... fatty hens stop laying...

Maybe now with higher energy needs (staying warm in winter) they slimmed down to a healthier weight... and then add longer days, every day for 2 weeks... (has it been 2? Or 3???)

And tada, eggs.
