No Eggs!!!!

Hi all-

I have 10 hens that are in prime laying age...and were, throughout the winter giving me 6 eggs a day. In the past month I am lucky if I get 1 or 2 a day...all of a sudden they have come to a screeching halt...and I have no clue why!!

They have food, water, a clean coop, plenty of kitchen scraps, cracked corn, light, etc...the weather here in Maine has been weird...lots of rain (which they hate) then warm then cold then more rain. Any idea what could be going on?? For them all to stop laying has only happened to me one when they ran out of water while I was sick for a week...

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

how old are they?

if *roughly a year old ... they may be getting ready to moult .... look for an excessive amount of feathers on the ground

you make a good point - and one I should have thought of - there have been lots of feathers - I have just never had everyone molt at the same time...
