Got our first couple Hubbard white mountains today. One of the chicks is featherless around her rear and there is dried on feces. I cleaned off the feces, however, I am worried about her feathers missing. I have watched them and there doesn't seem to be any pecking of that area. The chick is around a week old, on Dumor chick starter and is eating and drinking good. Any advice?

The feathers will grow back. You're doing great by keeping an eye on her and making sure that none of the others are picking at the area.

If your are worried about her getting more pasty butt, you can rub some mineral oil or baby oil on the area and it will help keep the pooh from sticking.

Hope this is some help!
