No Feathers? Help

Well if it's any consolation I have 4 girls who have been bald on their bodies for months (treated for lice and mite with no improvement). They free range and I've never seen any feather pecking.

All the baldies have a strong regrowth going on at the moment and they will be fully feathered again come the winter.

Yours will probably do the same.

I have a post up with the same problem. I am now convinced...after much feedback and seeing pictures, that they are molting. Egg production has slowed way down and there are feathers every where except for on my birds.

dos egg production go down? i didn't know that. ALL my girls haven't laid in weeks, just yesterday we had to BUY eggs! we have not bought eggs in 4 months! i hope BOTH our Flocks are Okay...

Egg production does go down or even stop when molting starts. (I just found this out as well).

Diatomaceous earth. But NOT THE TYPE USED FOR SWIMMING POOLS. It has to be FOOD GRADE. Most feed stores sell it. I think I bought a 40lb bag for $20. It has lasted since spring. I clean the run once a week (raking all the poo and scrubbing all the feeders/water fonts) I then take the DE and sprinkle it in their little bathing holes so when they take a dust bath it gets all over them. I also sprinkle it inside the coop in the nesting boxes and on the floor (dirt floor). We had mite problem lst spring where I thought it was a respratory thing. I started using it then and haven't had a problem since.

Good luck and I am sure they will all be just fine.
