Wild/Normal Type Female

Slate Male (Not sure of mutation)

Does your blue face hen have blue on her? Only the males are blue, females are a chocolate color. Pretty birdies. All are Chinese blue breasted quail (cbbq for short). I love the the silver blue face male on the bottom photo. Those are pretty ones when the beak is black, there is blue face in the color genes

No, im positive that she is a hen. She's laid an egg in my hand once.

it was quite an expirience. And ive also seen the other hen lay an egg and i have it on video on my phone. I get 2 eggs a day, im positive on thier genders. I just dont know why they dont lay fertile eggs. I have seen the male take a seed and try to offer it to the black one a lot. Sometimes she takes it, and sometimes she doesnt. Lol​
