No good deed ever goes unpunished!!!

The duck eggs will be fine for 2 weeks and as long as a predator doesn't wander by, the ducks will be fine too. Remind the Missus she isn't going to be able to help you if she's in the hospital herself. https://www.duckeggs.com/duckeggs-faq.html
Fortunately the weather cooperates for the next 10-14 days with little rain and a lot of sunshine in the forecast, so that the »panzer practice area« between the house and the duck facility can dry out - i finished the drainage ditch before the accident. So we are fine for now, my wifie could collect all the yummy eggs and the ducks enjoy their new freedom. They love to spend the cold nights outside in the mudd… :idunno

:gigthat would have been a good explanation. Sadly not the case. Kept tearing cartilage, tendons & muscles. They would go in clean it up, be fine for 6 months sometimes less. Finally got a doctor who had tests done and found my knees tracked on the outside of the knee, reconstructed both but left didn't take, had to remove kneecap. Said I was too young (35-36) for replacement.
Sorry to hear that! I have a friend back in Germany whose story is strikingly similar to yours. Problems with her right knee over and over again until she was »old enough« to get an artificial joint. No further problems since then. I don't understand that »too young« argument that some doctors use. Have you considered to consult a another doctor?

I hope that today is as good as can be and that your release date is in sight. Have you considered contacting a local 4 H group to see if some kid in the area might help with the ducks ?
I'm back home since last night, they released me after dinner. Thank you very much for the hint to the 4H group, i did not even know such group exists. And we have one right here in Charleston. For now we're fine as the weather has calmed down…

Oh you poor man. Sure hope pain levels out soon. That had to of been an awful thing to go through. How’s your wife and critters doing?
My wife is doing fine, thank you! She has calmed down since i got home last night. The Duckies enjoy their new freedom, no Hill-Billie herding them back inside in the evening… And NoName Duck has started to lay eggs! We now have three eggs a day, a large one from Katharina, normal size from Curiosity and a tiny one from NoName Duck.

That's great! I hope you are home soon. I'm sure your duckies miss you a lot!

I just looked at our 10-day forecast. Tomorrow will be sunny but the rest of the day's rain! I'm so sick of rain but I guess it could be worse and it'd be snow!
Got back home last night! :wee
The Duckies heart me and freaked out, they all came to the patio to see me and Limpy was laughing his rump off when he saw me limping worse than himself!

Rain or snow? I dislike both, i love water in ponds, lakes, rivers and oceans, but not while it falls from the sky! Rain here means instant mud, snow means delayed mud but ten-fold deeper.

So sorry to hear about this! :hugs I hope you and your family are having a very merry Christmas!

I know a lot of folks who would be taking this far worse (and they would have every right to) but you are taking this so cheerfully! And you have a really good sense of humor!

Best wishes to you and yours! :hugs
Thank you very much for the good wishes, we enjoyed Christmas as much as possible. I hope you and your family had a joyful time too!
