a really good result and I would not say it was coincidental luck but I would not advertise it for all to copy either.

I have to disagree. If my hatches are coming out this well, I believe I should share. If people are using my exact set-up, with the same mix of birds, it's not unreasonable to believe they'll end up with a high rate as well. Only time will tell. I'll be hatching 50 more in a month. I'll come back and give an update on my next batch as well. If it continues to work out the same way, It's safe to assume I found the best hatching method ( at least for my breed/mix of bird).

I bought a new incubator, but in spring I plan to use it side by side with my DIY incubator to compare, using no water with the DIY, turned twice a day, and per manufacturers instructions with the nurture right, same eggs. I will document my experiment as well and if the results are worth anything, I will post them.

Summer update. Used my incubator once again, same amount of eggs. Same result. 49 hatched, lost one (It didn't even develop, so I'm assuming it wasn't fertile).
