So we got our roo butchered last wednesday and one of my hens seems depressed that he's gone but I'm not sure if it symptoms from molting cause I think she is but she is eating and drinking but she looks sad and tired and is panting none of my other hens are panting just her at night can someone give me some insight as to whatg might be the problem if I should seek help amediately or is it something that needs to run its coarse

It sounds like she might just be hot. Some hens are affected by the heat more than others, which would be why your other birds aren't acting like her. When the weather cools off, she might become more perky and stop panting.

Worms can cause a bird to be lethargic and droopy. As a preventative measure, you may want to worm her. Get some Safeguard or Valbazen, as these are the two best wormers.

There might be a few other possiblities as to what is wrong with her, but these are two to start with.

Hope this helps!

I would bring her in the house for a few days, and see if she recovers. Then outside again, but she may need a dunky in a basin to cool off, and ice in the water daily.
