Those boxes are IN the coop, yes? While I like the size and profile of those boxes, I don't like the fact that there is no perching ledge outside the boxes. I see you have some cement paver stones. Can you rig something so the bird can stand outside the box, and step directly into it? Even something as simple as a tree stump would do the job. I would also put in a very deep layer of hay. The deeper, the better. I put it deep enough that it actually goes part way up the sides of the nest box.
