No leg use in quail

Hey! So she is still alive. I set her up so she can have access to her food and water all day and even tomorrow, if I don’t have time to go tomorrow.
She is very active... besides the no leg use.
I gave her the poultry cell again today. I keep thinking that I see a tiny leg movement when she flaps around but I’m not sure. Hopefully she will bounce back tomorrow

Ok so she poop hanging to her butt. I cleaned her up and this is what her vent looks like. It is purple and distended. She might have been blocked and couldn’t lay her egg so that’s my guess, she has an egg but I’m not sure. I gave her yogurt mixed with vitamin B50 and E

Usually if a quail is egg bound, she won't be able to poop either. If you can actually feel an egg, I would have her soak in warm (quail body temp or a couple of degrees warmer) epsom salt bath. You could also apply a bit of vaseline around her vent.

Are her legs getting any better?

No they are not. She pooped so she is not egg bound. Does her vent look weird to you?

Tug on her legs gently, one at a time. If she doesn't pull them toward her body on reflex, it's likely a nerve issue rather than a development issue. I would cull—both to prevent pain/languishing and to protect your other birds from a potential infection.

She doesn’t pull them back, can’t vitamins fix nerve issues?

Vitamins aren't miracle cures, sadly.

When big nerves like the sciatic (which branch off the spinal cord and innervate the legs) get hurt, they don't heal well—think of all the humans barely walking around with sciatic pain and paralysis. It's the same nerve in birds.

You can try to change her diet now, but I would cull the moment she stops wanting to eat. It would be prudent to call around and see which labs in your area perform necropsies, mostly to make sure it's not something like Marek's which poses a risk to other flocks.

I'm sorry she's so sick, and wish the best for your other birds.
