Hi, I have 75 chooks all ex batts. They were all in the usual state, but they are now, doing great however one out of the last lot I had(bout 3 wks ago)had an obvious injury to her beak,in fact the lower beak has been completely ripped off!!leaving just her upper beak and tongue. It was an obvious very recent injury as she cant eat "normal"food.so would have died of starvation had it been long term, I have been making her a sort of gruel with soaked pellets, honey probiotic yoghurt and apple. She has put on a bit of weight tho is still very thin. She has become very much a "house chook" in that she doesn't hang out with the rest but follows me around enjoying sitting on my knee and even my shoulder!!My question is really,is there any more I can do for her? She has constant access to her "gruel" but I would be happier if she had a bit more weight on her. Thanks, Carol
