No more eggs??

7 chickens and getting 4-5 eggs a day. Past 3 days not a single egg...I am not really complaining because I am swimming in eggs right now BUT is it normal for them to take a vacation??

absolutely, they teak a break in the winter, when the days are shorter, their egg laying cycle is dictated somewhat by the hours of light. I have 7 laying hens also, i am averaging 1 egg per day right now, in the summer i average 6.

Dont worry, its normal.

You could put a light in their coop, there are hundreds of threads on here about the ethics behind this, some say do it, others say let them take their natural break - its up to you, i dont have a light, not because i am a monster raving tree hugging hippy but i dont need 30 eggs a week right now, so let them winter in peace!

LOL I think i will let them be for now. I have a bunch of eggs to last me a while!
