Management gave themselves a $7.5 Million pay raise just before going bankrupt... then blamed the unions for wanting to much money...Yeah, the entire thing was stupid. Union workers: "WE DON'T WANT A PAY CUT!" Hostess: "M'kay, if that's how it's gonna be, we're going to go out of business." UW: "YAY! We didn't get the pay cut! And now we don't get paid at all... Um, guys, maybe we should rethink this."
Every time they filed they gave management a bonus for "saving the company"...Well, it wasn't as if the company was in such great shape in any event. They filed for bankruptcy in 2004 and again in 2011 and my guess is that liquidation was just around the corner regardless of the unions. Having said that it sue seems that the union more was a useless act and probably plain dumb

Sugar is cheaper in Mexico so I am guessing they will move production there... so is labor. I do wonder if the positions lost were not minimum wage positions really anyhow and it was long overdue.
