I really truly don't think of myself as spoiling my chickens. Compared to my friends and their chickens yes!! Any animal at our home is part of our family (my son would not have it otherwise) and as such I'm looking out for them - keeping them happy and healthy. So if that makes them spoiled I guess they are. I never guessed I would actually love my chickens!!

Last night saw me sticking my hand through the pop door and holding a bowl of oatmeal and yogurt up to my underweight crossbeak who wouldn't come down off the roost to eat it. She has a hard keeping any weight on so needs help. She was happy to have a late supper served in bed.
