day 18 and in moving the eggs from the bator to the hatcher several were quite vocal in their dislike of being moved! Yeah! Early hatchers no doubt.

2 more definite fails and probably 3 others, but the rest looked fully occupied if not everyone was yelling.

Boy, that would be nice, if they all demonstrated that helpful behavior!!

Wouldn't it be nice if you could use something like a voltage detector that would cheep when touched to a live egg? Candlign is great but it doesn't always tell you if the embryo is still alive.

I wouldn't ever candle again, if such a thing existed. I am only looking for proof of development and therefore hope the embryo is alive and will hatch. If all I had to do was touch eggs with a probe, I would be thrilled. Live? Yup. Live? Yup. Live? Uh oh. Live? Yup.

That would be wonderful. <*sigh*>

generally not much. Both at the same set up minus an egg turner for the hatcher. It's nice to have a second unit set up with everything needed for the higher hatching humidity. Plus if you're doing staggered hatches you can move eggs ready to hatch to a hatcher while leavign the rest at a lower humidity and still on a turner.
