Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have tried tossing them (gently) under it and you would think i was trying to kill them.

If they are brooding inside your nice warm house, they're probably just NOT cold.

Have you taken the temp under there??? Also, was the eco there before you put the chicks in? Or were the chicks already there and then you added the eco ('cause chickens are always afraid of changes).

They will when they get cold. I have an ecoglow, and thought the same thing. Eventually, they make there way over to it. But my brooder was only 3 feet x 1.5 feet, small comared to others.

My chicks are night owls. They refuse to go under the Ecoglow until I turn off ALL of the lights! And even then, they sit under the edge like they are waiting for a party to start!

I should add, I do run a heat lamp during the day but not at night. Have a 100 watt bulb in it, for just a little warmth.
