Nice aviary. I'm a big fan of natural pens for quail.
As a suggestion, you could put a hidey-bin stuffed w/ dry grass inbetween two grass plants - so they're more likely to go in the hole to lay, rather than sit on the living grass (which still has the top open - exposing them to flying 'threats'). The hole could be an overturned clay pot, plastic bin, or whatever suitable container you have on hand.
Also, I spot a herp feeder dish. Those are a bugger to clean for my crabs, don't know how you manage it with quail.
They don't lay on top of the grass, they just like to sit up there sometimes, I think they like to see further, but they have the hut to lay in and in the other corner in one of the pictures you can see the wooden tunnel between the 2 grass plants, that's where they've been laying so far, I figure because it's between the grass plants and under cover so they feel safe in there. We also don't really use the herp dish, we had it in there for food but they just kick all the food out, so we've brought one of the trough feeders we had for the budgies down to quail height and use them, they have hoods over them to keep the food dry which saves a lot of work.
Oh, I meant someone to buy the quail chicks if I hatched some, though it would be coturnix now. Like I said, I don't even know if the incubator still works hahaWhich one do you mean?
