I have these two as a breed and have been searching online as to what the chicks would come out like. I now have the answer as I incubated 35 eggs and got 24 hatched. Let's just say the buff Brahma has some really strong genetics as most of them came out looking buff with beards

Very cute! I just tried this cross with my black Ameraucana rooster and bantam buff Brahma hen—they all came out black with muffs and feathered feet. I can't wait to see if there's some gold leakage when they feather out

Welcome to BYC & congratulations! Your chicks are adorable!
Thank you, I was very selective on the breeds I used for the little farm here, I did brahmas because of size and I love the feet feathers, so that part is a personal preference. I did the Easter eggers because they are good egg layers. Personal preference on the beards and fun with different colored eggs. Big part was being cold hardy with smaller combs which both parts filled. My hope is to get a larger Easter egger with feet feathers that lay colored eggs. Versatile for meat and laying. With the fun added features as well. Breeding is fun and I like seeing the outcomes of what I'm trying to design.

Pretty much same for me, I have black, white, gray Easter eggers and all of the chicks so far have come out dark with feathered feet and 50/50 on the beards. It'll be neat to see what adulthood characteristics come out.

Apparently Im bored and just now finding this thread. I did my own buff brahma and eager mix experiment this summer!

The boys were so pretty and we only ended up with 3 female mixes. One who basically looks like a buff brahma lol

We waited until 16-20 weeks to process the cockerels, haven't tried one yet but they gave us a decent carcass.

Story of our flock with pics.

Do you have updated pics?
