No Roosters!

I am new to having chickens too ~ and I have 24! LOL 14 are 5 weeks old ...... and the other 10 are 2 weeks old. I am shocked that you can tell just by looking at them if they are roosters or not! I know I have one because he just started trying to crow the other day ........ Isn't the the for sure way to tell? LOL Am I safe after a certain age? LOL I love my "girls!" ..... I don't want roosters! LOL (well, maybe one is ok) Also ..... several of them to that pecking thing ...... where they run up to each other and push their chest out toward each other ...... is that the pecking order they are figuring out ...... or is that what "Roosters" do? Thanks for the info!!

thats a bit young for crowing...post pics when they reach 6 weeks and we can help tell you...no the chest bumping doesnt mean the chick is a cockerel...they also have little bumps on their legs were future spurs will grow but thats not an indication of a cockerel as all chicks have those and even some hens will grow spurs...

my rooster started trying to crow at 8 weeks old and now he is 12weeks and crows every morning and sometimes during the day

I'm gonna say all girls my chicks aren't as old as yours and my rooster's combs are much more prominent.
