No shell egg!!

I had my gold sexlink drop a no sell egg under the porch yesterday! All the girls ate it so fast i could not even see if there was a soft shell! I put her in a warm bath and felt for shell inside but there was nothing. Not sure why she would do that she is my best layer and has not been laying for about 4 days! Not sure what to do!!!

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! Sometimes chickens do that. Unusually, it's just a "misfire" where the shell is not put on the egg. However, that can be a sign of Egg Drop Syndrome. Thanks, she has always been an awesome layer so it was just a little worring to me! She just turned 1 1/2 so she is still young.

Yes, she is still young. But now that the others have tasted an egg, they will be looking for other opportunities. Egg eating is a hard habit to break, one hen teaches the others..

You may also want to investigate methods to break egg eaters.
