Mine do this once in a while as well. Old and young chickens do it. I also have laying pellets but offer oyster shells. You can also use their own shells ( bake at 200 for 10 mins, cool and crush) that will help but oyster shells are easier. I wouldn't worry too much about an egg or two. If its daily over a period of time I would then be concerned
