No tail feathers at almost 7 weeks! ROO?? Pics to Compare

I know this is an old thread but I have a 7 week silver that has the same tail going on & this is the closest example I can find online. Was your Goldie a hen or a roo in the end?
The person you quoted hasn't been online since 2015. If you post pics of your bird, we can help sex it for you.

Pretty positive this one was a pullet.

Here are some pics of 'Squeaks' that I took today, she/he will be 8 weeks in two days time. The comb and wattle come up redder in photos, in real life they are more of a light salmon pink. I have been searching online week by week and this chick seems to be feathering slower than virtually every image I have seen online. Squeaks did have a stressful hatch which I wonder if this could have affected development in some way

That is a very interesting pattern! Not sure what to think about that. As far as the size/feathering in goes, you may be dealing with a "failure to thrive" chick.

Comb and wattles say pullet right now. The pattern makes me hesitant though. Post updated pics in a few weeks.

Finally found this thread again for an update. Squeaks is now 21 weeks & we are almost positive that she's becoming a Dorothy (Dot)... Or as she likes to say A LOT 'DotDottttt'. Just waiting for the egg of confirmation once she finishes growing out her hen feathers.

I should note that the pics are about a month ago 🙂
