No tail weathers, mixed up label, possible runt

Hi all!
I got 7 chicks from Tractor Supply. I thought this one, we named her sugar, was supposed to be a Barred Rock, but the next day I went back the same chicks were labeled Tetra-White.

Also, this little gal has no tail feathers and is developing slower than the others. Any guesses as to whether she’s a runt and if I should be concerned? She can’t a handle the bigger pieces of chick food, she sleeps more than the others and is more likely to be basking in the heat lamp than playing...however she is eating and is getting in with the group some of the time.

And once again...what’s up with the no tail feathers!

She may be a bantam breed. Try grinding up the feed in a blender to make it easier for her to eat.

It’s possible, that’s what I was thinking at first, but they were all delivered to the store when they were less than 1wk old and I got them when they had been there a week so it’s unlikely or only by a day or 2.

Not quite sure what to make of this. Looks like a fairly normal buff orpington chick. As long as she is eating, drinking and pooping normally, then probably just a little behind.

Are you feeding medicated chick starter? If not, you may want to treat with CORID for coccidiosis.
