I have two eggs left in my incubator that haven’t pipped. The other 13 have completely hatched. It’s now day 22. So I float tested these two after I candled them. The first one I candled and it has a huge air sac and there was no movement an no sign of internal pip. I did the float test and no movement. Deceased I believe. Then I candled the second one. I can’t even see any amount of air sac and I couldn’t see movement. So when I floated it, it started rocking and then I could faintly hear chirping. Yay, alive!! But why can’t I see any of the air sac? Is this a problem? It’s been a couple of hours and I can still hear occasional chirping in the incubator but still no external pip. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I’m candling the fat end. I’ve been basically incubating every three weeks since March so I’ve candled a lot. I candled right before lockdown and drew the air sac with pencil. The one deceased egg has a much bigger and very visible air sac. This one has me stumped. No visible air sac anymore. Does that mean it pipped internally and then like pushed all the way through the internal membrane? I can try to do a picture but you just can’t see anything. I even went in a completely dark closet and used the bright light on my iPhone.

Okay, what breed are the eggs from?

Oh, maybe terminology has changed since I got mine two years ago lol. 😂 I ordered eggs from Sheri at California Country Ranch two years ago and the way I recall it being explained was that they were all called sizzles and you could end up with 4 possible feather types.... frizzled silkie, smooth silkie, frizzled sizzle, and smooth sizzle. But last year I saw them referred to as Satins. So confusing 🤪 Anyway, we love this “breed.” Always fun to see how they feather in.

Anyhow, any thoughts on this egg? I’m stumped.

It's all, we all get things mixed up, & confused.

I won't know until I get a look at the egg itself.
