This part of the south is known as the stroke belt. "They" say it's because of folks eating habits down here. It's true when I met my DH he thought every single food had to be fried. I broke him of that. Still....

I sold 5 dozen eggs to one person yesterday, another 5 dozen to someone today. Then a neighbor showed up wanting 5 dozen and he just bought 5 dozen a week ago!

Mercy, I can't imagine using up that many eggs in a week.

Gritty, all food must be fried. It's the law and I don't want to see my friends in trouble with the Southern Culinary Police. Please fry everthing from now on just so you'll be safe from the SCP.
And there's 7 days in a week, 6 eggs a person for breakfast = 3 1/2 dozen per person per week. Of course he might be married, but if so he ain't lettin' her eat much is he? Might outta tell him girls like eggs too.
Of course if you use 'em in baking and such I'd think he'd need a few more dozen each week.

Yep, same here, Kat.
I've really had to reign my DHs eating habits in-if it CAN be fried, it SHOULD be fried is his motto.
Course he's naturally thin built...jerk...

Hope they aren't reselling the eggs for a higher price. What are you charging? I had that happen to me before BYC'ers advised me to raise my prices. I still sell all my eggs but that one person is not going to make a proffit of my hard work.

Nah, the one guy shares with his mom, but the rest are eaten by the family. The neighbor usually has three ranchhands to feed, but he may have more right now in calving season.

Good. I eat a lot of eggs and so do my kids but I can't imagine using that many eggs.

Now listen up...I been all over the place, and I know just darn
near ever'thing worth the knowing.

Us Southerners eat better that anywhere else in America, cause
we have all the best food...(such as)

Fried taters
Fried beans
Fried cornbread
Fried bacon
Fried eggs
Fried green tomatos

State law that all meat be fried...

Using five dozen eggs per week for a normal family is not considered
a problem in the South. Eggs are good for most things.

I remember one time, one of them yankee familys moved next door...
woman bought a bunch of Moms fresh eggs, planted them in her garden.
Was gonna grow her some chickens. Cain't trust them Yankees...

Back in the day...way back in the day when my wife and I got our first chickens,
she didn't know much about chickens. Me being me, I would go buy some store
eggs and stick under the hens. My wife thought those hens laid 5-6 eggs a day
each. Should of heard her telling people how her four hens was laying two-three
dozen eggs a day. That was funny. ....You cain't trust Southerners either.

Blood sugar may have something to do with strokes as well. I just learned this at a seminar last weekend, and I thought that it was very interesting. It actually kept my attention without a bunch of bloody and deformed photos! They said that if you run your blood sugar consistantly high, diabetes or not, the sugar will actually crystalize onto your red blood cells. The RBC's are then tiny jagged rocks, and they will damage the blood vessle walls. Your body recognizes this damage, and it sends platelets and such to the area to fix it. This narrowes the artery, and if it causes a clot in the brain, voila, a stroke!
