No Yolk?

I have a bantam Ameracauna that lays a very small blue egg. The problem is when I crack the eggs there's no yolk. Any one know why?

Strange, but you could always market them as low fat eggs.

Look up Fart eggs....

Yep its a term. Usually the first few eggs a hen lays are sort of practice till the whole egg production process gets in gear. but it can be causesd by a couple of other things.

Thanks for the link! I read the whole page.

It was very informative and interesting! I guess my hen must have got the tear because at one time she was laying regular size eggs.

I hope she gets back to normal.

I am a Relative novice with chicken keeping. I had four Americanas in the city for about a year till a dog killed them all.

Then when I moved to the country I had four Light brahmas till coyotes got them.

I eventually learned how to keep the preditors out dog wise and had the flock up to about thirty. Then a Bob cat got them.

Each time I have only been able to keep chickens for about a year. Guineas on the other hand were able to hang in there for just about three years. They are tough little guys and a adore them.

So Now I am reading up learning more realizing how much I didnt know then BEFORE i get my flock started again. I am an insatiable learner when i get focused on a subject. So when something new pops up I do a BROADBAND search....

Keep us posted if things change it will be interesting to find out if she recovers
