No yolkers from a 10 mos. Hen

So strange! My girls seem happy, they free range, lots of water, I give them treats. but twice this week I have had 2 mini no yolkers, we are talking half the size of a regular egg, it is so cute!

There is ONE change however, I have 4 8 week old chicks in the coop with them, they are separated from each other ( the 10mos and the 8 weekers) so no physical access but they do see each other. do you think this could be enough to throw off the egg laying mojo?

At such a young age they are still working out the kinks in the plumbing. I don't think it would take much to mess up their laying. Those tiny eggs are called egg farts/wind eggs/dwarf eggs. They are interesting when they happen. It usually means nothing- just a fluke.
