Nocturnal ducks???

Hey I have a pair of ducks. They have a 20’ x 16’ enclosure with plenty of water and food plus a refinished dog house they call home. They don’t really come out of there coop except early in the morning and late at night. I don’t know why... the enclosure is hardware cloth completely covered and there are about two feet of wood all around the bottom to keep them safe. I don’t want them to be afraid to come out. Should I block off the sides so they feel more secure?? I don’t know what’s wrong. They are my first ducks so I’m at a loss. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

How about a picture of your set up?

I don’t have a picture on hand. They are actually at my parents house. Right now they are on grass and the pin is set up next to a shed. I have a 300 gallon stock tank I’m going to set up in there but right now there is a large kiddy pool. I also have a few buckets for fresh drinking water. There are plenty of bugs for them to grab at and they have pellets and we give them peas and other fresh greens. There are trees around the pin. I’ll get a picture of the set up tomorrow.
