Noise?

Just how noisy are ducks? Specifically, a flock of 25-30 Khaki Campbells? Our chickens are doing well and I'd like to add some ducks this spring. I'd like a considerable backyard flock to explore my fantasy (delusion???) about keeping some layers as a sideline business.

I have access to plenty of land, but no ponds or flowing water (so the Campbells that seem to do better than most with only supplied water for drinking/splashing/dunking). Technically the land is grandfathered and zoned Ag`, but the ducks would be approx 75yards from the closest house in a bordering subdivision. Legally, I have no issues, but have softer concerns and do not need complaints about the noise.

Would 25 khaki Campbells create racket noticeable at 75-100 yards?

Ducks are a lot noisier than chickens. I'm not sure how far the sound travels.

I would think you could hear them at about a football fields distance away. I’m not sure they would be loud per say, but I bet they would be able to hear them. Especially the times when it’s nice out and people have windows open. Unfortunately ducks are the opposite of chickens in the noise department. The girls are loud. I have some that are really loud and some that are not that loud. Just varies from duck to duck.

25 Hen Ducks would be very loud..I have 7 acres and when I go out riding my Horse, I can here my Ducks a long distance away.
