Chirping

We have 30x day old cortunix quails. 1 of them has not stopped chirping since it hatched whereas all the others are happily into a ‘routine’ of eat/drink/poop/sleep and are all pretty quiet, they’ve spent 90% of the time since they hatched under the heat plate.
This 1 seems to be calling out looking for something?? It’s been running about non-stop chirping, it even managed to jump on top of the heat plate. It’s not overly loud or annoying but won’t it die of exhaustion? Can’t say I’ve seen it eat/drink/sleep but then again I can’t guarantee it’s the same chick as they all look the same but there’s only ever 1 doing it

I have 2 dozen baby quail at the moment and they all seem to take their turn being the loud one sometimes. Does seem a bit strange though.

My older male crows non stop if he cant see the girls or be with them.

If it is the same chick everytime, maybe take it aside and give it a chance at food and water on his own if you think its possible he may be the runt.

I also noticed that my scrawnier chicks do more whinning than the older more feathered ones.

My quail chicks scared me, bc I wasn't used to how much louder/active they are compared to chicken chicks. They are more wild than chickens, so they are constantly "tense", and they won't just let you hold them. Mine also seemed to always be trying to get out of their brooder too. They always had their necks strained up towards the top, like they were about to jump. At least that's just my experience.

I don’t think he’s the runt, I don’t think we have an obvious runt. They are all exactly the same size and look exactly the same
He’s got complete access to food and water as the others run out the heat, eat/drink as fast as they can and then run off back to the heat.
He’s the only one that won’t seem to stay under the heat, I tried putting him under incase he couldn’t find the others but he come straight back out & carried on chirping.

These ones seem to like being held and will happily sit on your hand, although I’ve not taken my hand out of the brooder when I’m holding them in case it makes a run for it

Ok so he just stopped. A load of the chicks come out from under the heat and he’s not squarking his head off. Im guessing he just wanted his friends to come out and play although I don’t get why he didn’t go with them in the first place
