Of course, when I got chickens I knew it would come with some noise and living in a suburban area I also knew this might pose a risk. Everything I read has always told me that usually, silkies in particular, aren't that loud yet that is not what I have experienced. I have three silkie hens that are as loud as can be and not just when laying eggs, that is what I was prepared for but they are loud all the time. Two of them like to talk while they eat, when they are walking around, or when they are doing literally nothing and I am wondering if there is anything that can help with this. I know there is always going to be noise but its been a year since I got them and I am quite sure my neighbors are annoyed so I at least want to try and minimize the noise.
