Hey all,
Wondering if you could show non apa accepted colors in shows, specifically the Wisconsin International in Portage. They just have a form where you write the breed and color in, and it doesn’t say if you can or not. Anyone know?

That's kinda tough. I've seen it fly at county fairs, but the APA sanctioned shows have never had unrecognized entries that I've seen.

@AMERAUCANAS4REAL would know better than I do. Someone else tag her, too. I'm not sure she's been seeing my tags.

Yes, you may show any variety within a breed even if it is not APA or ABA accepted. The exhibits, however, will not be allowed to compete beyond the variety awards since they are not recognized.

Yes you may.

The bird can only get best of variety and not advance further, however, you may enter a non-accepted variety.

I believe the official stance is that they can be entered, but they won't advance beyond best of their variety.

Agreed, 100%

I just did this today, entered in the all other varieties for my breed and was essentially disqualified for non standard coloring. So who really knows

Even in the AOV class you'll need to designate what variety you are exhibiting; Calico, Blue Laced Red, Lemon Blue, etc.... otherwise you'll be disqualified as the judge will not know what to do with your exhibit.
