I have a chicken that seems to be neither male nor female - or maybe both? It's name is Bertha/Bert, and it has rooster vibes to look at it, but it isn't growing spurs, crowing, or trying to chase down the hens. Today Bertha/Bert tried to dancey-dance for one of my girls that got loose, so I buckled down and put it in the bachelor's pen with my other roos, and they started dancing for the newcomer and trying to grab it - like they do to the hens. Bertha/Bert is roughly a year old, one of the ones I hatched. I know it's possible to have a non-binary chicken, but has anyone else ever had anything like this?
EDIT: here's some pics of Bert. Yeah, it's a Bert. I suspected it was, but behavior had me questioning it. This morning, while I was taking these pictures, he hopped up to cover a hen... so it's a Bert, which is disappointing, because I do NOT need another rooster
