non laying chickens

Hi there new to chickens, have 2 wyndotts living in sydney australia , they are approx 26 weeks old ,very scared of us , likes our dog follows him around . not laying eggs any ideas when they start ??? thanks all

Your hens should be laying soon, but they are all different.

My marans hens have taken 7 mos to start laying. What color are their combs? If they have turned red you will see eggs soon. Are they squatting for the rooster? If so, you will see eggs soon.

ps. Are you sure they are not laying their eggs where you cannot see.... around the corner and behind the hay bale? If they are your first chickens and no one else is laying in the nesting boxes, then I would suggest placing other eggs (plastic or the like) in the nesting box to be sure that they know where to lay them. That's in case they are ready to lay.
