I use 1 25lb bag of medicated 21% protein food for every 40 chicks I hatch. I use this bag until its gone then I use 21% chick starter until there about 12-13 weeks old and switch to layer crumbles. At around 20 weeks I will start the transition to layer pellets and they free range all day with free choice pellets. Hope this helps!
