Ah, here comes Winter.
Late as usual. And so:
Dramatic entrance.

A light rain shower
Dogs are wearing their rain coats
Chickens stay indoors

Cold! Minus eighteen
Fahrenheit, not Celsius.
Wake me when it's warm.

Only eight degrees
And a dusting of white stuff;
It's not over yet.

The fowl say, "Not fair!
We're staying in the hen house!
The sky is falling!"

But dogs say, "What fun!"
Snow is just a brand new toy!
Come on out and play!

Cloudy skies above
Chickens scratching in damp earth
Caught in a down pour

The long, quiet night
All are waiting for blooming
Spring to come again.

It's too cold to be
Comfortable in the house-
Best to use blankets.
