So true bantams are supposed to take around 19 days to hatch. Is it the same for non standard bantams? I have a silkie sitting on some bantam wyandotte eggs and am just wondering when I should expect them to start hatching?

I can't give you a very detailed reply to this except when I've hatched Bantam eggs (D'Anver, D'Uccle, Silkie) they all still hatched on the 21st day of incubation.

Even when hatching LF eggs with them, they all hatched at the same time.

I know lots of people say they hatch early, some even day 18 but personally I've never had that (except with my quail eggs).

I'd stick with the standard 'waiting time' of 21 days and keep checking when necessary :)

Good luck with the hatch!

Yeah it really should take more like 21 days, though they may take a few hours left than LF.

I don’t know what non-standard bantams are?

In my experience..

Silkies generally take 20-21 days, with the occasional 19 day’er.

Serama take 18-20 days.

LF take 20-21 days.

The low end of each is pips, not hatch.
