Non-Stick Pans???

Agreed with AquaEyes. I too know someone that lost birds due to using a non-stick pan, and the pan didn't even get all that hot, and the bird was on the other side of the house. I am cast iron all the way, here, and it's actually MORE 'non stick' than my parent's very expensive teflon cookware when seasoned properly!

My mom just recently lost all of her zebra finches, her Mexican red head,& my brown throat conure because she had a Teflon pan on high on the stove when she was making tortillas. I had told her that Teflon was bad to cook with around the birds years ago but she couldn't find her cast iron comal & I suppose she didn't think about it.
It is horrible to watch them suffucate & fall. She is very tramatized & refuses to let me get her another bird. The lone survivor is the sunset conure because she happened to be outside at the time with me.
I feel so much sympathy for anyone who loses their bird to this. /tear

I am going to keep whatever I get in my garage. I made a thread about what breed I should get for this and got a bunch of recommendations. Thanks for the help everyone!

I cooked pancakes in nonstick pan this morning ..gave leftovers to chickens..now one is dead..another is lethargic acting.. idk could the pancake have caused. This?
