my Minorca roos are quite timid but robust.

today my sis cried out and there was a rooster charging her but stopping about a yard away. no flogging. is this a result of their flightiness, don't have the guts to get close to the kid, but really angry?
 
It's possible that the roo could see that she was not trying to return the threat in a fight so maybe that's why he did not actually kick. Probably part of him being a bit timid came into play there.
