Normal behaviour for an indian runner duck?

Yep, you're right, I will add wooden ramp tomorrow! Pellets already contains vitamins... What kind of vitamins is good for ducks? Farmers around my place are giving garlic powder to them sometimes (once a month), but it seems quite controversed.

Anyway, this is a great forum, full of ideas and knowledge! I'm very happy to be here.
Well here in the USA I recommend Poultry Nutri Drench. Sometimes they just need an extra boost especially during times of cold weather, molting, injury. I do use garlic granules in the fermented feed I make for my flock of chickens, ducks and geese. I take garlic to help boost my immune system too.

There are many opinions about vitamins and supplements for our ducks. Do what you feel inside is right for your ducks. We here at BYC Duck Forum share what we know, and how we feel and some of us have strong opinions - so we will share those, too.

You duck looks okay to me. If he has a sprain or a pull, it appears minor to me. I have seen my ducks walk like this sometimes when they are a little nervous and unsure about something. I have a flock of nine Runners and four Buffs, by the way. Runner body language is fascinating! My Runners will act out what they want sometimes, like charades.

You might think about a tablespoon (15 cc's) of apple cider vinegar in a gallon (4 litres) of drinking water a few times a week, as a tonic, a pick-me-up for the ducks. If you do this, the water container must not not not be galvanized metal. Stainless steel is okay, I believe, ceramic is fine, plastic is fine. But galvanized will react with the acid in the vinegar and release metal into the water - not good.

You may also think about - just maybe once a month - putting a B Complex vitamin - dissolved first because some duck will eat the whole thing

if you just drop the pill in the water. Use the amount of B3 - niacin - in the pill and go for 100 mg niacin to 1 gallon (4 litres) of water.

Thanks for your advices Lydia and Amiga.

I will try both garlic and apple cider vinegar (not sure if I can find it in my place). Today, he's not lying anymore. He's walking and running as often as he was before. But he still has a small limp. I checked and he doesn't seem to suffer from a bumble foot (not 100% sure yet) but I rather bet he's recovering from a strain or a pull

Amiga, about runner (and kaki) body language, after mating, my ducks run. They just run very fast, in a crazy way and lowering the neck. I find it hilarious but is it the same for all ducks?

I can only speak of my experience with my Runners and Buffs. Especially the Runners, after a successful game of hop on top, run around head lowered, and also pantomime splashing in water. I think the technical term for it is, "WHOOP DEE DOOO!" or something like that.
