There soooo cute but beware the ducks grow very fast
I'm learning that. They are having problems already too. They are now on niacin supplements and viatmins and swim therapy for leg issues at a week old. Word to the wise, make sure you have niacin or brewers yeast ahead of time for your baby ducks. It will save you a world of trouble.

My first flock I had started was roughly 3 years ago. it consisted of 6 black Australorp, and we gout an average 4 eggs a day. they were excellent layers, but terrible mamas I had discovered, for us, a hen hatched 5 new chickies. a RIR roo, white silkie roo, Japanese bantam roo, and 2 excellent americuana cross girls. they are excellent birds! after that, we gave our BAs to our neighbor. she has them now. I wish we didn't get rid of them....they sure were excellent girls.

just this year, I hatched 6 of my americuana cross eggs, crossed with her japaese roo. I also hatched a jappie (silkie X Japanese bantam) out of my own egg ad well. I hatched 3 more Japanese bantams, 2 silkies, and one frizze roo.

im super excited for the new babies to begin laying! their new coop is just about done, and will be turning 9 weeks old next week.

They are so pretty! Great photos too!

Specially if you're out in the country. Just have lots of hens and a couple roos to get more fluffy butts.
