I posted not that long ago asking for help for my sick Jersey Giant. To catch everyone up or for those who didn’t see.. I had 4 chickens fall ill id see them next morning in run sick and then they died day or couple days after them showing symptoms and all passed within weeks or one another. So I saw odd looking poops in my coop and watched my one Duccle Roo poop one out.. I’m not sure if this is normal cecal poop or something I should be worried about(It doesn’t look too good to me)and if we can tell what the hell is finally going on with my flock by this! Attaching pics below!

@azygous Lol and of course I’m going to tag you!

Is the rooster showing any signs of not feeling well? Fluffed up? Lethargic? Poor appetite?

That poop is concerning, but absent other symptoms, it's really just poop. What you can do is take a sample of that to your vet and ask for a fecal float. If it's caused by parasites, the test will reveal this and also what kind they are.

Nope! He’s perfectly fine! It was worrisome to me also but I’m not sure if I’m just traumatized from losing all those chickens! When i spoke to someone last at my vet they said they don’t! But I’m not sure if I happened to get someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about :heI’m going to call again in a second!!

Be sure to clarify to your vet that you don't expect a treatment plan or them to treat your rooster. You need to assure them you only want to check his poop for worms or coccidia and you will assume the responsibility of treating him if he needs it. Some vets get nervous when a chicken owner comes to them and they have to admit they know nothing about chickens. That isn't a problem for us. We know how to do worming and treat coccidiosis without their help.

They would have to do fecals to provide preventative maintenance for dogs and cats. I think they just didn't know what they were talking about, lol
