Normal wing?

this chick is about 4-5 days old and the left wing is partly separated and hanging away. Is this normal? Will it correct itself?

Sometimes, that's just the way they feather in. You won't even notice it in another week or two.

That does happen as those wing feathers come in. It's nothing to worry about.

Ha!! I asked the same exact thing 6 weeks ago! Feathers filled in overnight, and as one person predicted, it is a male! See the story and pics here:

I hope it’s a female—I did the “feather sexing” and there are two uneven rows of feathers—if not a hen then it won’t get to go to the coop at my friends house! Fingers crossed she’s a hen

Feather sexing is not universal, they say it only can be used for a few specific breeds.
Anyway, good luck with your baby! I will be very interested to know if it is male or female, please let me know when you know!
