Can't wait for the next one.

Good Morning Everyone!! I hope you all had a great Christmas!! We were blessed with DH getting a 4 day weekend, so DD was in HEAVEN!! She had her fill of her daddy and this morning was walking around trying to find him.

So sweet!! We had neighbors drop in unexpectedly to give us some banana nut bread and a home-made fruit cake...he really wanted an excuse to find out if we were pregnant or not - seriously!!

He thought it would be rude to ask, so he made his daughter do it!!

DH used his Friday off to do some remodeling in the coop. We rearranged where the roosts were so HOPEFULLY

they will no longer poop on one another!! I made a special "treat" for them - it was oatmeal, flaxseed, greek yogurt, sheep's milk and some chicken bits all chopped up and mixed together. I was VERY happy to see Susan get in there and eat some. She is still hanging out in the nesting box at night, but seems okay otherwise. No improvement in tail or comb, so

who knows. I am only getting 2 eggs a day now and those eggs are from my new girls!!

I will also share a bit of annoyance with you all. If you remember back a month ago, when DH was outside trying to use his tiller and it locked up on him. Well, I suggested since it was such a nice day out Saturday that he start it up and I would do some tilling before the ground freezes (IF it does). Well, it was serviced and "fixed" so well that it ran a total of 2 minutes before locking up and dying on us. We spent 45 minutes yesterday on the phone calling and trying to get a replacement. Our concern was we've started it twice and both times it has locked up. We have YET to actually do any tilling!! After much back and forth, DH finally said either you replace it, or I am loading it up and dropping it off on the front steps of the store and telling EVERYONE that walks into that door that you refuse to back up your guarantee!! Surprisingly after that, they said we'd have a replacement on Wednesday!!

Today is laundry day and an attempt to play catch up from the weekend. Enjoyed a few lazy days while DH and DD had quality time!!

I hope you all had a special Christmas!!

I have grandkids this week so they may end up with yours on the manure pile before the day is over BHep. Why can't they just get along? We did have a very nice quite Christmas day. Now I am going to give the chiks and ducks some special yogurt with feed mixed into it. They also get some coconut milk added to it. They eat better than we do at times. forgot the peas will be added. Starting to see some blue skies but cold weather is on the way.

good morning everyone, glad to see that all have had a good holiday. Just getting cleaned up from Christmas and now thinking of New Year's day menu.

If anyone's looking for chicks the EE's are available as well as a couple of black bantams I hatched last week. I will be having chicks available weekly for awhile as I am hatching and only keeping select chicks from new upcoming groups.

HenThymes Did you get the pics I sent you 12/19 of the 1/2 English/lavendar splits that your sweet husband delivered to Forest City?
They have grown up and are laying now.

I put four of the split orp. eggs under a broody silkie to see if they are fertile. Only two are developing. I think I am going to have to do some butt trimming to get good fertility

I have a semi-problem.....my roommate bought 3 very large buff orpington hens. she hasn't bought them any food and I'm not being responsible for them. So if anyone would like to purchase them I'm looking to sell them for maybe $8 a piece......she (the bright one) over paid by a long shot.....thanks for looking
