I am really trying to cut back. Sold 44 young birds yesterday, mostly Silkies. I kept 4 buff, 4 white, 2 lavender, 2 porcelain & 5 Splash. The Splash are for sale. If they don't sell on CL, I will take them to the flock swap in Fayetteville in Feb. Also selling my Dark Brahmas & Austrolorps. I am getting serious here.

They loved it.

To put a pic, click the square box in the tool bar just above where you type. It is to the left of the film strip looking symbol.
When the box pops up, click browes and find the picture you want. Then click ok or apply, whatever it says and when it finishes click submit.

It is so much easier to show you then explain it.

BHep, how much trouble are peacocks? Would they just hang around my yard as eye candy? I hear they take off a lot....Is that true?

Mine are locked up.... yes they will take off. Some may not go far, but I am on a 2 lane road, not much traffic but the traffic that does use it drive 80 mph.

Bhep - do you breed your own silkies in those colors or do you buy the eggs? if you get itching to hatch more - let me know if you hatch partridge or porcelain and I'm your girl! I will be your best friend! ;)

That scovy is about 10 months old and a determined broody of infertile eggs every time she lays a few she goes broody....I don't want to full with scovies anymore, the other 3 I had got themselves killed, and I just want this girl to have a boy to fertilize her some dang eggs. LOL

Bhep, they are stunning!!

Ally, i'm sure your stepdaughter will adjust just fine.

I'm having a great day so far! I re-bedded all my coops. Moved some birds around in a hope to make care easier, burnt some limb/leaves, and de-conned buckets.

I have 2 bits of GREAT news.
1. I called a friend to ask her how to keep bees...she does it for a living and I was thinking about getting some for my garden. She says she has too many at her house and will bring my a hive in March for my garden. I have to feed them but she will do all the care. She says she will give me 1/2 of their honey! I can't wait!!!

2. I FINALLY caught that stupid rough game hen that has been hanging out with my chickens. I scared her into a coop and shut her in quick. Catching her took quite a bit even in the coop. I dare any critter to try to get that spawn of satan hen. She is in a small cage now and this evening she will be put in a coop. Looks like that crew will be locked up for the next 2 weeks or so....long enough to teach her to roost/lay there and not FREAK out anytime I walk near the coop. LOL

Look what I made for lunch today! The recipe:Chicken Nachos
