I will see what I can do!! As for "it" being a girl...I do hope so, it would make everything SO much easier - rooming, clothes, the works...but DH is so hoping for a boy. I told him he gets 4 more chances (Lord Willing) to get at least 1 boy (of course if I had my way it would be 4 boys and 2 girls...but I could tolerate 3 boys and 3 girls...I just HATE odd numbers!! LOL)!! It's also destined to be a girl because we have NO name picked out for a girl...boys are all set...girls...not so much!! ARG!!

I can't even collect eggs properly!! LOL. I will leave out that I am still intimidated by them!! SHHH!! I'll send home some extra cookies - if I can't bribe you I can try to bribe your kids through you!! Hehe.

So, DW - Allison - and I are out to the south of where we live and run across a feed store. Wonderful people, so I enquire how much their Purina Layer pellets are. To my suprise the lady tells me $13 a 50lb sack..... This is $6 less than my other local feed store and TSC are selling it for..... Needless to say I purchased 2 bags and a bag of wheat bran for my newly started mealworm farm....

Yay for not buying anything!! DH won't let me go for fear that I am going to buy out the place. I told him I just wanted to meet my fellow BYC'ers and experience a WCA, but he's skeptical of my motives! LOL. I think he doesn't trust himself and we'd end up coming home with a bunch of farm animals that we would then have to find a place to house and find a butcher for...yeah, I am an easy scapegoat when you look at it that way!! LOL

Okay BYC'ers...those of you who are experienced with chicken saddles a few questions for you... 1) Can the saddle be of ANY fabric? I'm thinking I have loads of scrap fleece & cotton laying around...didn't want to have to buy fabric if I can use anything. 2) Does anyone know a size comparison for a White Faced Black Spanish and an Orpington?!? I have Jemimah (my alpha and large orpington) and Miss Tiggy-Wiggy (my smaller lav orpington) to make saddles for and the lady that offers the DIY tutorial (and measurements) has a White Faced Black Spanish (never heard of one of those). I was curious as to how they might compare so I would have an idea of whether or not to scale up/down based upon that. I really REALLY don't want to chase down two chickens to measure them...I honestly don't think I'd be able to bend down fast enough to get them!! LOL!! Wish me luck, I am heading into the Tower Dungeon known as the sewing room to locate some fabric and to see if I have any elastic & snaps!! If you don't hear from me by Thursday, send the rescue squad...haha, JK!!

lavmom, Bhep and I were sitting just behind and to the right of the couch. I was wearing a NEON yellow EMS coat. You couldn't miss it if you tried. Beside me was an older man that was super sweet. Were you sitting next to the man buying all the rabbits?

AR, I was so proud of myself. I sold 3 hens and didn't buy ANYTHING.

I'm looking for a Splash Orpington pullet/hen if anyone has one/runs across one. Although I'm not good at the color genetics I think a Blue or Black would work with my Splash rooster too.

A white faced black spanish is the same height and close to the same width ( slightly smaller in the chest) than an orp. from what I remember of my friends birds last year.
