North Carolina

I had the black polish and a splash silkie hatch, 1 splash egg was infertile, 1 developed a blood ring. the 2nd polish egg quit before lockdown. the 4th splash egg quit during pipping.

I can't make it the WCA this weekend, won't have any money for 1 thing. lol. But if Colie is going to be back, then I'll meet her to pick up my birds she picked up in GA for me, but I figure she's not coming back til later Sunday. Got to figure out when I'm going down to pick up my babies from her.

Hope I can make it the 26th though.

Who are we processing? Sounds more like a celebration with all the goodies.

I am processing one of my roosters (Cotton-tail)!! He is the one always fighting with Jeremy and while I am sure the other rooster will pick up and take over being second in command, I think since he's getting more aggressive (despite being a great protector) that it's best to not have him around...he's "danced" around my daughter once and that was enough to concern me. He doesn't try anything with me...guess he knows I am BOSS - if only he knew I was a wuss!! LOL

We will CELEBRATE the learning process. I will celebrate with
bun.gif
the dance of joy if I manage to a) not throw up, b) not cry and/or c) complete the process without getting TOO grossed out!! LOL. On top of that, Beth is helping me with saddles, so I promised to send some cookies home with her as my thank you, I can't possibly send goodies home with one and not the other, so there is a need to make a bunch AND the class is mid-morning. Therefore, I will have lunch and snacks ready for the farm girls to eat after some hard work!! Then, it becomes a social event...once the chickens (and guineas) are secured in their respective "camps".

Moore - THANK YOU!! I have had matzo ball mix sitting in my cupboard waiting for me to do something with it!! I LOVE Jewish food as it generally is dairy free (if it's Kosher) and therefore, safe for DD and I to eat!! WOO HOO!! Thank you again!! :D

I have them...........14 of them. I would like to process 2 males. If not ......... not going to stress about it. Too many other things to worry about other them catching a Guinea.

I have a bunch of rooster that could be processed.... yet I will take them to auction Sun. I need the $ to buy more fence..... and pay for the incubator I bought last night

I can explain............ I need another bator just to hatch in. I HATE getting my cabinet dirty.

It is a pain in the butt to have to clean & disinfect. Had some issues last summer, I did not clean after a couple of hatches and had lots of blood rings. So now I try not to hatch in it. Not more losses.

Don't hate me when I say this, but I'd really like to see a video of you (or your kids) running around trying to catch a guinea!! It is quite comical in my mind's eye at least!!

Is your cabinet the one in the office that you use all the time or is this a different bator? I think I need to start hatching so I can take some boys to the auction to get $$ to pay for the fencing that we need...LOL Okay Cochins...time to go broody on me...let's help pay rent now!!
