Guineas are WILD !!!!

When they get cornered in a coop they can climb the walls and ricochet off that wall or the body of whoever is there....and they have nails like daggers.

What kind of roosters will you take to WCA?

I have them...........14 of them. I would like to process 2 males. If not ......... not going to stress about it. Too many other things to worry about other them catching a Guinea.

I have a bunch of rooster that could be processed.... yet I will take them to auction Sun. I need the $ to buy more fence..... and pay for the incubator I bought last night

I can explain............ I need another bator just to hatch in. I HATE getting my cabinet dirty.

It is a pain in the butt to have to clean & disinfect. Had some issues last summer, I did not clean after a couple of hatches and had lots of blood rings. So now I try not to hatch in it. Not more losses.

My new eggs came YAY! The incubator I ordered didn't. BOO! Yeah, yeah....I know its a rookie mistake. How long can I wait before I have to put the eggs in one so I don't loose them all?

Hopefully..I will have room for some runner ducks
and will bring some chicks.......... IDK what yet. They will be hatching Fri., so depends on what hatches.

When is the bator due?
Are the eggs dated?
should be ok for a day or 2.

How many of your counter top exp hatched, or are they not due yet?

NH- Yes chasing a yard bird requires speed and agility, things I had in my younger years, but now PRAY I won't have to knock the rust off of.

I just wanted to see video of BHep and/or her family trying to chase down some guineas. I could use a good hardy laugh, but I had no idea she had chuck norris guineas!!

RF, I'll be working but expect regular updates by text from Bhep!!

That means I can expect regular updates from her too, right??

Just had to share this with you all...because I am SO happy/excited!! DD informed me right after lunch that "baby" (her baby doll) needed to go potty (she says what sounds like Bayou...LOL). I asked if she needed to go too and she said yes. Completely unexpected, but DD used the new potty on her own without any questioning from me!! I had planned to give potty training a go next week when I had no plans, but she surprised me!! Then, after getting her treat for using the potty (what we call cookies, but they are really just teething biscuits...SHH) she informs me that her "bear" Snuggles is ready for "nite nite" and walks to her bed, climbs in and says, "nite nite". She must REALLY want something, right?? LOL Anyway, just had to boast/brag/share to someone!!

Hi all,

Had my quarterly Avian influenza check today and Jeff, the guy who does it mentioned that they need people to volunteer their flocks for the program. He said that a lot of the folks that had been doing it are getting out of chickens and they could use more flocks. The program is free of charge and very easy to do they come by at your convenience and take swabs from the chicken's mouth once every quarter. This is the way they check to see if AI has made it into the state. You would be a sentinel flock and don't have to be NPIP. anyone interested can send me a PM and I will give you Jeff's number for more info.

I think I will be taking some birds to the WCA this Sunday. I don't stay because since I am NPIP I can't buy anything, so I came back about 3 to see if my boxes have been through.

3 pairs of Black laced red Wyandottes juveniles
some Light Sussex crosses juveniles-- Might be pures or crossed with RIR not sure since I had a RIR pullet in the pen and the eggs are the same color. Maybe a pair or trio

Carolyn.
