That is a shame!

I have a son at App State in Boone. Anywhere close? If so, next time one of us is heading to visit the other, I'll check and see if you still have them available!

NH, YAY for the productive day. Technically you can use old store potatoes for your seed potatoes and most of your local hardware stores have seed potatoes in now. They actually need to be planted first of March if we are going to get 5-6 warmish days. Now why are you going to be a fun-sucker and take away my job as a hysterical corrupter?? Ok we talked about the birthing babies thing....JUST because I have a sterile OB kit in my truck doesn't mean I want to birth a youngin....EVER. I'll be there to watch you and make sure you stay good and intervene if you need it.....but if you go into labor we are calling the AMBULANCE. lol

You realize that one of these days you are going to end up birthing a baby...I'm sure it's no different than birthing a calf or a horse...just smaller (and for some women - MUCH louder than a dying horse/cow...not me, why waste the energy!!). Any suggestions on keeping the chickens out of the garden/freshly planted area?? We put wire (temp) around the garden but they either wiggle in between or jump over it.

I'll be heading to Agri-supply/TSC to look for some deer netting (or that "orange" construction type deer netting you mentioned) so I'll have to look into finding potatoes!!

SOS- she is eating and drinking ok. Her poo looks normal. She has good movement in the legs. And neither is swollen. I've been giving her eggs mixed with spinach, carrots, oats and chicken. One waterer has sav-a-chick in it and the other has Nutri-drench. They were given antibotics because one was sneezing. No more sneezing! Her eyes are bright and she is talkative. Could it be as simple as she is stiff and has lost a lot of weight?

Well, thanks to you guys I've had a very productive day... probably not as productive as Ruth's was!

I dug and dug, and potted and hauled.... so tired! I didn't get nearly what I thought I would get. So you guys might have to fight over stuff. Maybe arm wrestle? That would be funny!

I got a couple boxed potted up and a 3 gallon bucket full of bulbs and raspberries. I wanted to get a little bit more, but ran out of steam.

About an hour from now I'll be rounding up chickens for tomorrow too. And these little buggers don't like me for some reason today. I think a stray dog came sniffing around this afternoon, and got them all riled up. Thanks a lot dog!!!
